Who We Are
The Restoration Center, Inc. is dedicated to helping those individuals and families which range from very low, low to moderate income levels, gain independence and stability in their communities. Founded and incorporated in the state of New Jersey in 1993, The center performs day to day operations at 272-308 South 12th Street, Newark, New Jersey.
Our mission is to bring hope back to communities ravaged by the effects of homelessness, unemployment, drugs, crime, physical and mental health illness; and overall economic inequality. That mission is supported by the provision of temporary shelter to assist the population served in their quest for permanent housing, stability and financial independence.

1993
Rev. T. Durr Founded Restoration Center
Revered Durr founded the center as a way to continue the mission of community outreach and to benefit the public as a whole.
1996
The Urban Boot Camp Was Developed
Urban Bootcamp is a community-based program offering hands-on training in essential skills and trades within an urban environment. Participants engage in practical workshops and mentorship sessions aimed at equipping them with valuable vocational skills for personal and professional development.
1997
Formed The Veteran's Drop In Center
The Veteran's Drop In Center provides a welcoming and supportive environment for veterans to connect, access resources, and receive assistance tailored to their unique needs.
2004
Formed The Transistional Housing Facility
The Transitional Housing Facility at The Restoration Center, Inc. offers a supportive environment for individuals in transition, providing temporary housing and comprehensive services to help them regain stability and independence.
2007
Formed "Another Chance" Prisoner Re-Entry Program
The Prison Re-entry Program offers vital support and resources to individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. Through tailored counseling, vocational training, and social services, we empower participants to successfully reintegrate, reduce recidivism, and build positive futures.
